Acquisition of Periphonics by Nortel Networks Approved
Nortel Networks and Periphonics Corporation announced that the acquisition of Periphonics by Nortel Networks was approved by the Periphonics stockholders at the annual meeting of stockholders held this morning in Hauppauge, New York. The acquisition will be effected by the merger of a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nortel Networks with and into Periphonics. Nortel Networks and Periphonics expect that the merger will close on Friday, November 12, 1999.

Ten North Gains Second-Round Financing, Hires VP of Client Services
Ten North, Inc. announced it has raised $9.6 million in its second round of financing led by Bay Partners. Janus Technologies Names Chief Operating Officer
Janus Technologies announced that as a result of business expansion it has named Nick Manolis as Chief Operating Officer. In his role as COO, Manolis, who formerly served as CFO of the company, will be responsible for overseeing the areas of sales, marketing and customer service, as well as finance and administration.
