New and expecting parents will be able to get all their questions about
infant and toddler products answered in real-time day or night at
Rightstart.com, the website of The Right Start, a national specialty
retailer of safety and development products for infants and children.
Rightstart.com will enable visitors to enter live, text-based
conversations with customer-care agents. The site will provide the same
quality assistance and expert advice to online customers that in-person

Motive to Power Gateway E-Support
Motive Communications, Inc. announced that Gateway has adopted its
technology as the cornerstone of its next-generation Internet-based
technical support program. Gateway has selected Motive's e-support
software as the foundation for its support Web site and beginning in
November 1999 will introduce the service to Gateway users. (Read

Hewlett-Packard to Resell Oracle CRM Software
Hewlett-Packard will announce on Tuesday it will sell Oracle's customer
relationship management software. Carly Fiorina, Hewlett-Packard's chief
executive, and Oracle Chairman Larry Ellison will appear at a news
conference Tuesday morning to announce the details.
Periphonics Introduces CTX -Converged Telephony
Periphonics Corporation announced the introduction of its CTX (Converged
Telephony Exchange) programmable switching fabric. The CTX combines
circuit switching and packet switching in a single system along with
common voice processing features. In addition, CTX offers the ability to
deliver integrated VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and concurrent
voice and data processing in IP calls.
The Great Elk Company Partners with SPL
The Great Elk Company announced the extension of a partnership with SPL
WorldGroup, an international provider of information technology consulting
and enterprise solutions. The agreement builds on a partnership already
established in the Australasian market and allows SPL WorldGroup to
implement Great Elk’s enterprise CRM solution, Visual Elk, in North
America. In related news, Great Elk opens new U.S. offices in San
Francisco, Dallas and Atlanta.
Nationwide Selects Centra 99 to Deliver Live
Siebel Training
Centra announced that Nationwide Insurance has selected Centra 99 to
support their Siebel customer relationship management (CRM) software
introduction code named "Agents On Line." Nationwide
standardized on Centra 99 to augment and extend physical classroom
training, business meetings, and teleconferences and to provide live
interactive, hands-on training and support for 4,300 agencies and staff in
excess of 12,000 people.
Oracle Delivers Sales and Marketing Analysis to
the Web
Oracle Corp. announced the immediate availability of Oracle® Sales
Analyzer 6.2.1 and Express® Web Agent 3.0, two new products that allow
business managers and executives to analyze e-business sales and marketing
data via a standard Web browser. Both products extend the power of
Oracle's Express on-line analytical processing (OLAP) engine.
New Proxy v3.0 Remote Control Software for the
Help Desk
Funk Software announced a new version of its multi-protocol,
multi-platform Proxy remote control software that adds drag-and-drop file
transfer, remote printing capabilities, modem support, and centralized
installation. These new features position Proxy as a productivity tool for
network managers, help desk professionals, call center supervisors, and
mobile workers who need to diagnose and resolve remote computing problems,
reconfigure and reboot PCs and file servers, and access files and
applications on remote PCs.
Health Alliance Medical Plans Selects Onyx
Onyx Software announced that Health Alliance Medical Plans has selected
Onyx Managed Care to implement across the organization, in marketing,
sales, underwriting, member service, and provider relations. Onyx Managed
Care will be used in Health Alliance's commercial and Medicare businesses
as well as to manage provider and broker partner relationships.
