Quintus To Acquire Acuity
Quintus Corporation announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Acuity Corp., a provider of Web-based customer interaction software headquartered in Austin, Texas. The acquisition is expected to be completed in November. The acquisition will allow Quintus to accelerate its move into the electronic CRM (eCRM) market. As part of an existing strategic alliance with Acuity, Quintus has already integrated elements of Acuity’s WebCenterTM software with the Quintus eContact suite.

BankAtlantic Chooses Edify
Edify Corporation announced that BankAtlantic, a community bank based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has joined a growing number of banks that have licensed Edify's e-Banking System (EBS) for its consumer customers. By utilizing Edify's e-Banking, BankAtlantic will be able to offer their customers real-time access to their account histories, funds transfer capabilities, e-mail, and electronic bill payment.

Applicast Extends Partnership With Siebel
Applicast, Inc., an application service provider (ASP), has extended its partnership with Siebel Systems to bring Siebel Systems' Web-based Front Office Applications to a relatively untapped market: early-stage companies in the ``pre-mid-market.'' Through this alliance, Applicast will allow these organizations to better manage growth and change by standardizing on enterprise-class solutions early, without the time and cost typically associated with deploying top-tier business systems.

Active Software and Art Technology Group Partner to Integrate ICRM Solutions
Active Software, Inc. and Art Technology Group, Inc., developers of e-commerce and online personalization applications, announced the formation of an alliance to enable businesses to deliver Internet Customer Relationship Management (ICRM) solutions integrated with enterprise applications, including Oracle(R), PeopleSoft(R) and SAP. Through this alliance, businesses can unlock information residing in existing enterprise applications and leverage it to build profitable relationships with their online customers.

Peregrine to Offer Linux Support
Peregrine Systems® announced it will offer Linux support for several of its product suites. Beginning with Peregrine Systems ServiceCenter(TM) and AssetCenter(TM) products, the move will allow Linux users to deploy solutions for managing the life cycle of all an organization's assets from the moment they are procured until they are retired. Peregrine Systems will work with Red Hat, Inc.

FaceTime Communications to Integrate AOL Instant Messenger
America Online, Inc. and FaceTime Communications announced that they have entered into an agreement under which FaceTime will integrate the AOL Instant Messenger SM (AIM) application into a customer service support tool to tap into the real-time customer support market for e-businesses. Under the agreement, FaceTime will integrate AIM into a customer service support tool, enabling FaceTime to use AIM in customer service and e-commerce communications applications it develops for its e-business customers.

Rightpoint Appoints European VP
RightPoint Inc. announced that Lin Johnstone, former vice president at Aspect Communications, has joined as vice president and managing director for Europe. Johnstone will drive RightPoint's expansion in the European market.

eGain Launches Canadian Operations
eGain Communications announced the opening of its Canadian headquarters in Toronto. A number of leading Canadian companies including * Indigo Books Music & More, The Loyalty Group and Tucows have already deployed eGain's solutions. eGain has hired Gary Taneja as Canadian country manager to lead its operations.
