Clarify
Selects Breakaway Solutions as First ASP
From the 6th Annual Clarify User Conference in San Francisco, Clarify
announced that it has selected Breakaway Solutions Inc. to provide ASP
service with a focus on meeting the front office needs of mid-size, fast
growth companies. Breakaway Solutions' Full Service Provider model
provides a single source for managed, secure and reliable solutions,
allowing customers to focus on their business.
Silknet and Sapient Team
Silknet Software and Sapient Corporation, an e-services consultancy,
announced a partnership for Sapient to provide strategy, creative and
technology consulting to companies for the Silknet eBusiness System(TM),
Silknet eService(TM) and Silknet eCommerce(TM) software applications.
Sapient will be able to incorporate Silknet's integrated set of
applications to help companies design and implement customer centered
e-business solutions.
Aspect Announces Packaged Data Mart
Aspect Telecommunications announced its Aspect® Customer DataMart -- a
packaged business intelligence solution specifically designed to gather
multimedia customer interaction data from distributed contact centers.
Companies have long had corporate data warehouses and data marts for
operational areas such as finance and sales provided by front-office and
back-office applications, and the Aspect Customer DataMart, businesses can
integrate any contact center data with other data to analyze operations
and drive business decisions.
Nortel to Purchase Periphonics
Nortel Networks announced to the market this morning that it has reached a
definitive agreement to acquire Periphonics Corporation. Nortel Networks
will pay an estimated US$436 million in its common shares for Periphonics.
The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 1999. Upon
completion of the merger, Periphonics will become a wholly owned
subsidiary of Nortel Networks.

Remedy Delivers New ARS Graphical Unix Client
Remedy® announced the availability of the Remedy User Client for HP-UX
v4.0. This native Unix interface for Remedy's Action Request System®
enriches features and functions to help application development and
cross-platform deployment. Remedy AR System applications can be created or
modified using a point-and-click administrator tool that requires no C++
or SQL coding.
Siebel Announces Stock Split
Siebel Systems announced that its Board of Directors has approved a
two-for-one stock split, to be effected as a 100% stock dividend. The
stock split is subject to stockholder approval which will be sought at a
Special Meeting of the company's stockholders. The payment date for this
stock dividend will be November 12, 1999.
Brightware Adds Vice President of Services
Brightware, Inc. announced the appointment of Andrew Priest, formerly with
Red Bricks Systems, as senior vice president of services.
