HDI Tip of the Day
"Nokia Mobile Phones of San Diego, CA, uses the buddy system for employee orientation. New hires are assigned a 'buddy' who shows them around the office, takes them to lunch on their first day, and helps them to fully set up their work space (including mounting a name plate). Nokia also gives new hires welcoming gifts, a T-shirt and coffee mug to commemorate their first day with the company." -- From 301 Ways to Have Fun at Work by Dave Hemsath and Leslie Yerkes
