  11/21/05 - Microsoft CRM Update - Part 2
Yesterday, I asked for people to weigh in on their early experiences with Microsoft CRM 3.0. I assumed my request was more of a "head's up" given the product doesn't ship until next month. Boy, was I wrong.
 
While general availability might be next month, a number of Microsoft CRM partners have had a look and were not shy about telling me what they think. So, before I share with you what the Microsoft CRM partners are saying, I'd like to hear from more people (resellers and end-users) that have first hand experience with version 3.0.

NICE announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire all the outstanding shares of FAST Video Security AG, a Swiss-based developer of video systems for security and surveillance purposes. Under the agreement, NICE would acquire FAST for approximately $21 million in cash at closing, with potential earnouts based on performance milestones amounting to a maximum of $12 million payable over the next three years.

Intervoice signed an agreement to purchase Edify from S1 Corporation. Upon closing, Intervoice will pay S1 $33.5 million in cash to acquire Edify.

TeleTech announced the acquisition of FinSource, an emerging Philippines-based business process outsourcing company. FinSource, founded in 2003, provides end-to-end business processing solutions for some of the world's leading financial services institutions.

Advantage International unveiled Add2Outlook for Contacts, another synchronization solution. Add2Outlook for Contacts is an Outlook client-side com add-in which provides users with 2-way replication of contact folder entries and 4-way synchronization of edits/deletions.

Varicent Software announced the release of Varicent SPM v2.0, as well as all Varicent add-on modules. This major release includes a number of new features that further extends the functionality, performance and technology of Varicent's flagship product, Varicent SPM.

RightNow announced communications operator Intelsat has decided to replace Siebel SA Enterprise with RightNow CRM. The decision was driven by Intelsat's desire to enhance its real-time visibility into its sales pipeline.

Transera Communications announced the immediate availability of Seratel, its call management software. Delivered as a service, Seratel presents tools for the widespread shift to decentralized customer service operations. Transera's Seratel on-demand call management software enables multiple enterprises to collaborate in providing customer care across organizational, geographical and technological boundaries.

Unica announced that Commerzbank has chosen Unica's Affinium software to carry out faster, more flexible marketing campaigns among its eight million customers. Affinium replaces the former Xchange Valex technology to enable Commerzbank to deliver precise, multi-channel marketing and introduce trigger-based and multi-stage campaigns.

Siebel announced that Lighthouse1 has selected Siebel CRM OnDemand to support its customer-facing business processes, including sales, marketing, and customer service.

WebTrends announced its continued dominance in the European web analytics market, recording a staggering 86% year-on-year increase in European Q3 bookings for WebTrendsR 7 web analytics solutions.
