BMC Software Delivers IT Discovery Suite BMC Software announced the availability of it's technology, Topology Discovery, the third component of the company's business-aware discovery and detection solutions in its Change and Configuration Management (CCM) offering. Topology Discovery provides IT managers with visibility into dependencies between applications and the underlying infrastructure -from the PC to the mainframe - to optimize business availability and speed up problem resolution processes.
Enterprise Systems Releases IT Budgeting Survey Results Results included the following: #1. While more than 50 percent of companies surveyed plan to increase software and hardware expenditures (by an average of 11 percent), a significant number (14 percent for software, 20 percent for hardware) are planning sizeable budget cuts in these areas. #2. Staff training is among the notable planned budget cuts, which will send a mixed message to many IT departments, whose executives are citing technical proficiency as their departments' top developmental need. #3. - Disparate priorities within IT departments surfaced as department members were asked for their wish list for 2005. Senior management selected wireless applications as their top wish list item; middle management wanted to see increased staff salaries; and IT staff asked for more training.
IMlogic Launches IM and P2P Threat Center IMlogic announced it has partnered with leaders in Internet security and instant messaging to launch an IM and P2P threat center. The IMlogic Threat Center is an operation to provide detection, analysis, alert, and protection for harmful instant messaging (IM) and peer-to-peer (P2P) threats including IM-borne viruses, worms, SPIM (spam over IM), and malicious code. The new threat center will serve as a knowledge base for known IM and P2P vulnerabilities and will additionally provide rapid response and guidance for protection against newly detected threats.
Guzel Sanatlar/Saatchi & Saatchi with Nortel Guzel Sanatlar is now providing its new seven-floor headquarters with voice and high-speed data communications through a single, IP network using solutions from Nortel. By converging multiple networks into one highly secure and reliable IP network, the agency's 110 employees can draw on such advanced services as IP Telephony, unified messaging, video conferencing and both wireless and wireline remote access to meet the fast-paced demands of the advertising industry. Queensland Government with Onyx Onyx announced that it has been awarded a contract by the Queensland (Australia) Government's Department of Child Safety and Department of Communities. Onyx anticipates that license and professional services for this contract will result in about $1.2 million in revenue to be realized in the second quarter of 2005 timeframe based on the targeted completion of services for the project's initial phase.
PeopleSoft and Genesys Announce Agreement PeopleSoft announced a new global reseller agreement with contact center software leader Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories. PeopleSoft and Genesys will collaborate on product roadmaps and continue their development of solutions that combine Genesys contact center software and PeopleSoft Enterprise Customer Relationship Management (CRM) applications.
Pervasive Software Joins Siebel SMB Alliance Program Pervasive Software announced that it has joined the Siebel SMB Alliance Program as a software partner providing lightweight, affordable solutions that integrate Siebel CRM OnDemand and other business applications into new and existing systems. By using Pervasive data migration and integration solutions, Siebel Systems' small to mid-sized (SMB) customers can gain immediate access to data from a range of leading enterprise application sources, including other financial, HR, e-business and supply chain applications for integration into Siebel CRM OnDemand.
HealthTec with Soffront CRM Soffront announced that HealthTec Software has upgraded to the latest version of Soffront CRM, version 8.0, to improve tracking and management of their Sales and Marketing processes and to implement a full-featured customer portal on their web site.
Lenox Selects Unica Unica Corporation announced that Lenox has chosen Unica's Affinium to enhance its customer segmentation capabilities and increase the speed and efficiency of its marketing campaigns. Leveraging Affinium's interface, Lenox marketers will be able to segment customers and execute marketing campaigns without IT support, decreasing their time-to-market and improving overall marketing productivity.
