Predicts 2005: IT Management Reinvents Itself
Gartner's 2005 IT Management predictions point out the trends that are most relevant to CIOs. Gartner predicts twenty percent of large IT organizations will rely on IT process improvement to lower operational costs by 10 percent by year-end 2005 (0.9 probability), rising to 40 percent of large IT organizations by year end 2007 (0.7 probability). By 2010, 30 percent of IT organizations will morph into owners of cross-business processes, 40 percent will continue to deliver traditional IT services and 30 percent will be supplanted by outsourced IT management (0.7 probability).

PeopleSoft announced that Milwaukee-based K+K America has licensed PeopleSoft Financial Management, Customer Relationship Management, Supply Chain Management, Enterprise Portal and Analytics in the fourth quarter of 2004. The company will replace multiple legacy applications with an integrated PeopleSoft solution that will improve business operations, enhance the customer experience, and expedite its global expansion into new markets.

Clark County Nevada With SAP
SAP Public Services announced that Clark County, home to the city of Las Vegas, Nevada, has selected mySAP ERP to enhance process transparency and lay a foundation for digital government to improve delivery of services for its approximately 1.6 million constituents. The county chose tools for financial management, human resources, business intelligence and an enterprise portal as well mySAP Customer Relationship Management (mySAP CRM) to enable digital government transactions that connect citizens and businesses to municipal services 24 hours a day, seven days a week via an Internet portal.
