Onyx Software to make rival bid for Pivotal
Onyx said it is offering to buy Pivotal for $2.25 a share, topping a bid for the maker of customer relationship management software from Oak Investment Partners. Onyx said the bid represents a 26 percent premium over the rival offer from U.S.-based venture capital firm Oak. Pivotal announced on Oct. 8 that its board and management had accepted the Oak offer of $1.78 a share, or about $47.2 million. Onyx said its unsolicited bid for Pivotal was a stock-for- stock transaction.

eGain Gains Momentum in the Outsourcer Market
A group of outsourcers have implemented eGain Service 6 because of the multi-tenancy features that allow outsourcers to serve multiple clients from a single deployment at reduced total cost of ownership. GWI Adds Customization and Flexibility with New Release
GWI Software has released c.Support(r) 2.5 for Microsoft Windows which includes easier navigation, custom views, and enhanced end-user search capabilities. Leveraging the .NET standard, c.Support version 2.5 provides integration with Microsoft(r) CRM. The system is fully web-based and requires only a web browser client.

PeopleSoft Ships EnterpriseOne CRM 8.9
The new release offers enhanced functionality for global deployments including support for 5 additional languages and multi-currency support for service orders. Designed for companies that manufacture, construct, distribute, service, or manage products or physical assets, PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne CRM 8.9 is part of the PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne (formerly J.D. Edwards 5) family of products. eOn Reports Third Consecutive Quarter of Profitability
eOn Communications announced that first quarter fiscal 2004 revenue and earnings will be in line with guidance the Company previously announced on August 27, 2003. The Company expects to report a profit with revenues in excess of $5 million and positive operating cash flow. eOn also announced changes to its senior management team to focus on international market development. Troy Lynch will step down as President and CEO of eOn, but will remain with the company as General Manager of eOn's Korea operations.   (about eOn)

NetSuite Attracts salesforce.com Customers
NetSuite announced that RS Software, a 350-employee, multi-national software company has standardized its entire business operation -- from sales, customer service, and support to financials -- on NetSuite. RS Software needed a software solution that would link their front-office operations, including a sales team and a customer support team, with their back-office. The company previously used salesforce.com and legacy financial software.
