Vignette To Acquire Epicentric
Vignette announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire privately held Epicentric. This acquisition brings leaders in business portal solutions and content management applications to deliver a foundation for enterprise Web applications. Under the terms of the agreement, Vignette will pay up to $32 million in cash and restricted stock for Epicentric.

IBM To Acquire Tarian Software
IBM announced it has signed a definitive agreement with Tarian Software to acquire all assets of the company. Tarian is a privately held provider of e-Records management software based in Ottawa, Canada.

NICE Completes Acquisition Of Thales Contact Solutions
NICE Systems announced that it has completed its acquisition of the assets of Thales Contact Solutions (TCS). The assets of TCS were acquired on the terms previously announced for $30 million in cash at closing plus 2,187,500 ordinary shares of NICE Systems Ltd.

Interactive Intelligence And Loquendo Sign OEM Agreement
An original equipment manufacturer agreement was signed this week that enables Interactive Intelligence to integrate Loquendo's multi-lingual text-to-speech engine into its customer interaction management software for contact centers and enterprises. The IVR and Loquendo TTS engine were designed to improve customer self-service by giving users a variety of options, such as the ability to access e-mail by phone, and listen to pre-recorded or dynamically generated prompts for information about account balances, order status and other items.

ServiceWare Secures $2.5 Million Credit Facility
Comerica and ServiceWare announced that Comerica's Technology and Life Sciences Division has provided the company with a $2.5 million credit facility, consisting of a $2 million revolving line of credit and a $500,000 term loan. more »

Oracle Names New Board Of Director
Oracle announced the addition of H. Raymond Bingham, president and chief executive officer of Cadence Design Systems, Inc., to Oracle's Board of Directors. Prior to becoming CEO, Bingham served as Cadence's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 1993 until April of 1999. more »
