Peregrine Files Chapter 11, Unloads Remedy Unit
Peregrine announced that it has filed to reorganize under Chapter 11. The company also announced an agreement that calls for BMC Software to acquire all of the assets and assume substantially all of the liabilities of Peregrine's Remedy business unit for US$350 million. BMC will provide Peregrine with debtor-in-possession financing of up to $110 million, to be netted against the purchase price.

Blue Pumpkin Acquires Onward
Blue Pumpkin announced it has acquired the contact center services group of Onward for integration, consulting and customization. The acquisition was performed to enhance the scope of professional services and ongoing value that Blue Pumpkin can deliver to customers. more »

DoubleClick Makes Bid For Protagona
DoubleClick has put a bid in to purchase Protagona plc, a campaign management vendor based in the UK. The offer is listed at £8.4M ($12.9M).

Contact Center Company To Run On Oracle
Oracle announced that AFFINA has selected a variety of products and services from Oracle. Using the Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle9i Application Server, AFFINA will replace the more than 15 legacy systems the company currently utilizes, and in the process expects to decrease information technology (IT) costs, increase employee efficiency and allow AFFINA to provide valuable insights to its clients on customer trends. Additionally, AFFINA will utilize Oracle Services -- including Oracle Consulting, Oracle University, Oracle Support Services, and Oracle Outsourcing -- to ease implementation and accelerate adoption among its employees. more »

HBOS Banks On E.piphany
E.piphany announced the deployment of its software for cross- selling at one of the UK's banks, HBOS. The partnership between E.piphany and HBOS began with the implementation of E.piphany Real-Time to customer service agents in the Halifax Direct contact center, a project that delivered payback within six months and generated increases in offer acceptance rates of more than 55 percent from top selling agents.
