IBM To Acquire PwC Consulting
IBM and PricewaterhouseCoopers announced that IBM would acquire PricewaterhouseCoopers' business consulting and technology services unit, PwC Consulting. The combination of IBM and PwC Consulting will create a capability to help clients solve their business issues. Under the terms, IBM will pay PricewaterhouseCoopers an estimated purchase price of $3.5 billion in cash and stock.

Blue Pumpkin Launches Workforce Optimization Suite
Blue Pumpkin introduced its Workforce Optimization Suite - an offering to optimize the employee management and performance processes that drive customer loyalty and corporate profitability. The processes supported by the Suite include: long-range human resource planning, budgeting, employee scheduling, productivity assessment, payroll integration and performance measurement. more »

NICE Systems Announces ScreenSense
NICE Systems announced ScreenSense, a business intelligence application that aims to enable contact centers and financial institutions to improve agent workflow and to garner customer insights. With ScreenSense, users can trigger contact center recordings and tag calls based on screen events including values entered into CRM applications, "pop-up" screens, or function keys that are pressed without requiring additional programming. ScreenSense can be used to analyze the success of new campaigns, how preferred customers are being treated, why customers are moving to the competition, and the user friendliness of CRM applications.

Restaurants Turn To Epicor
Epicor announced a growing customer base in the restaurant market with Epicor eIndustry for Hospitality and Foodservice. California Pizza Kitchen, Cooker Restaurants, Hooters of America, Islands Restaurants and Sybra have all standardized on the Epicor eIndustry solution. more »

Genesys Delivers Self-Service
Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories introduced Genesys Voice Portal, a solution designed to provide voice self-service functionality for customer contact management. Based on Telera's Voice Web Application Platform, Genesys Voice Portal aims to enable businesses to deliver voice self-service to customers and transition the customer to a live agent whenever necessary.

Witness Enables Contact Centers
Witness Systems announced accelerating market demand for its Web-based equality software suite. The eQuality suite provides a common platform for companies to capture multimedia customer interactions - including telephone, e-mail and Web transactions - analyze performance and apply organizational learning. more »

Samsung With SAP And Commerce One
Samsung and SAP announced the successful implementation of a private exchange based on MarketSet, the joint solution from SAP and Commerce One. The company plans to complete its efforts to create a digital business platform by rolling out the system to all of its fifty-nine global subsidiaries by the end of this year.

Xtrasource IEX Solution
IEX announced that Xtrasource selected TotalView Workforce Management to optimize the agent planning and scheduling process in its European contact centers. Since installing TotalView, the amount of time required to create schedules for the center has decreased by 60 percent. more »

Xilinx Chooses BroadVision
BroadVision announced that Xilinx has launched an updated version of its Xilinx Online Store, powered by BroadVision's enterprise business portal applications. With the updated Online Store, Xilinx is using BroadVision applications to provide their customers with anytime, online access to Xilinx solutions.

APAC Announces Results
APAC reported 2002 second quarter net earnings before special charges of $3.4 million or $.07 per share, compared to breakeven results in the prior year quarter measured on a similar basis.
