"Twas The Net Before Christmas"
by Chris Selland - VP Marketing, eSupportNow.com
'TWAS THE NET BEFORE CHRISTMAS 'Twas the Net before Christmas, Make-or-break for the year; We e-tailers were desperate, Our hearts filled with fear. Our VCs were nestled all snug in their beds, Since visions of profits still danced in their heads. But back in our offices, each evening grew late As we knew that this holiday would determine our fate. We'd tried banner ads and had made little clatter, But at the end of the year, only bottom line mattered. Thus even while customers came to our site, In 2001, would we keep on the lights? We needed help--big time--so I flew like a flash, Tore up my ad budget and freed up some cash. "Invest in eSupport!" is our new battle cry. "It's whether they'll return, not just how much they buy!" We knew deep down that e-tailing's not dead But to make it we'd have to use green ink, not red. Many dot-coms are gone now, but much has been learned. Now take care of those shoppers; there's loyalty to be earned! When the holiday was over and the receipts all tallied, I cried over the intercom, "Look how we've rallied!" The CEO exhaled--was it the first time all year? And I actually left the office for a holiday beer. -Chris Selland, VP Marketing, eSupportNow.com About eSupportNow Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Boston, Mass., eSupportNow, (www.esupportnow.com), is the leading provider of fully integrated e- customer care and sales solutions for digital businesses. eSupportNow offers its client-partners strategic outsourcing, ASP, and professional services designed to meet the customer relationship management needs of today's digital businesses.
