CRM Headline News

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 22, 2004-- Deloitte, Pelorus Group, Culpepper and Technology Marketing Corporation each validate company's leadership in workforce optimization solutions for the contact center market; Company advances on "Software 500" ranking of world's largest software and services suppliers .

Witness Systems (NASDAQ: WITS - News)(Company Profile, Past Stories, Case Studies) a global provider of performance optimization software and services, today announced that the company and its eQuality® software have been honored by leading contact center and IT analysts, publications and annual rankings for market leadership, technology innovation and revenue growth.

Recognition came from The Pelorus Group's recently published "World Contact Center Recording Systems Market" report; a technology innovation award from Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) and Customer Inter@ction Solutions magazine; and advancement in rankings published on Software Magazine's "Software 500," the Deloitte "Technology Fast 500" and Culpepper's "50 Fastest Growing Public High-Tech Companies."

Global Leader in Recording Software and Services for Contact Center Market

Dick Bucci, associate consultant with The Pelorus Group and author of its recently published "World Contact Center Recording Systems Market" report, identified Witness Systems as the global leader in recording systems software - as well as the worldwide leader in recording systems software and services - for the contact center market. The Pelorus Group is one of the fastest growing independent market research and training companies in the telecommunications industry.

Bucci commented, "Witness Systems distinguishes itself from its competitors on the basis of product line depth and breadth, IP recording and consulting services. The company is well ahead of the curve in recognizing that recording solutions have applications well beyond contact centers, a direct result of customer feedback."

According to the report, the contact center recording space is transitioning to a software and services model. It states, "Basic economic and technological forces will drive down the hardware component for both full recording and selective recording over the forecast period (2003-2008). The hardware component of full recording systems is projected to drop from 33 percent of the average price per seat in 2003 to only 11 percent in 2008." Such declines in the value of hardware sales will be offset by increases in the sale of new software applications and enhanced customer services. For companies like Witness Systems, this trend bodes well, as the company already has made the transition, with nearly 100 percent of its revenue coming from software and services.

"TMC Labs Innovation Award" for eQuality Vision

Witness Systems has been awarded a TMC Labs Innovation Award for its eQuality Vision solution. After examining an array of applications, checking customer references and conducting extensive research, the TMC Labs team named Witness Systems as one of only 26 winners in the customer interaction space. The awards are designed to recognize products that help carve a new market niche or start a new trend. This year marks the fifth annual installment of the TMC Labs Innovation Awards for Customer Inter@ction Solutions magazine.

eQuality Vision enables the rapid search and retrieval of recorded customer interactions. With its powerful data visualization capabilities, management can easily pinpoint and view interesting or unusual contacts. Advancement on Software Magazine "Software 500"

Marking its sixth consecutive appearance to the list, Witness Systems was featured on Software Magazine's Software 500, an annual ranking of the world's largest software and services suppliers. Appearing under the customer relationship management software business category, the company advanced its ranking to Number 178 - a jump from its rating of Number 217 a year prior. Witness Systems was the only workforce optimization vendor to be included in the listing.

The Software 500 has followed the leading software and services providers for more than 20 years, examining the growth and trends of these worldwide organizations. Tracking both public and privately held companies, it provides a comprehensive look at the enterprise software landscape that develops and markets business software/services for a wide variety of industries. The ranking is based on total worldwide software and services revenue for 2003, which includes company license, maintenance and support, training, and software-related services and consulting.

Inclusion on Deloitte "Technology Fast 500"

Witness Systems also has been named to the 2004 Deloitte Technology Fast 500, which recognizes the fastest growing technology companies in North America. Deloitte's ranking is based on percentage revenue growth over five years (1999-2003). Witness Systems appeared at Number 452 this year, with a 361 percent five-year growth rate.
