Texas Education Agency Selects Industry-Leading PeopleSoft 8 ApplicationsPure Internet Software to Drive Reduced Costs and Operational ExcellencePLEASANTON, Calif.--Dec. 10, 2001--PeopleSoft Inc. (Nasdaq:PSFT - news) announced that the Texas Education Agency (TEA) selected PeopleSoft 8 pure internet applications, including Services Procurement, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Portal, Financials and Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) solutions. After an extensive evaluation of its enterprise application requirements, TEA determined that PeopleSoft would deliver the most integrated and comprehensive solution for extending business processes to its customers and contractors. The transaction was finalized in the third quarter.TEA cited PeopleSoft's industry-leading Services Procurement technology as a key reason for its decision. PeopleSoft Services Procurement enables TEA to automate the process of procuring and managing contract services, and provides TEA with greater visibility and control over services spending. TEA utilizes services from numerous suppliers for a variety of functions, including teaching, testing and examination, and facilities maintenance. TEA's selection of PeopleSoft 8 CRM and CRM Analytics will enable them to set a new standard in customer service for Texas school districts. TEA plans to use PeopleSoft's Support and Interaction Management modules to improve customer response processes throughout the agency. Through this collaborative solution, school administrators can complete grant applications and check status of grant approvals online. By moving these business processes online, TEA will expedite the processing of grant applications, resulting in more efficient distribution of the $15 billion in state and federal grants provided to Texas school districts and charter schools annually.
