PeopleSoft Sets Industry Standard With New CRM Product Framework for Industry Solutions

PeopleSoft 8 CRM for Financial Services To Provide Best-of-Breed Industry Solution

PLEASANTON, Calif.--Oct. 9, 2001--PeopleSoft Inc. (Nasdaq:PSFT - news) today announced a new product framework for developing pure internet Customer Relationship Management (CRM) industry solutions. PeopleSoft 8 CRM industry solutions will be the industry's only vertical market CRM applications based on a single product framework with no separate industry codelines. The first of these industry-specific CRM solutions is PeopleSoft 8 CRM for Financial Services.

PeopleSoft's new CRM industry solutions will provide customers with the flexibility to easily automate and integrate business processes and configure their solutions to meet industry and organization-specific requirements. PeopleSoft's customer data model provides complete customer information and shows all of a customer's relationships to people, products and services across the enterprise. By expanding the visibility of customer relationships, PeopleSoft's new industry solutions are designed to enable organizations to gain a complete understanding of their most valued customers. As a result, organizations are able to prioritize products, services and resources to their key customers.

``PeopleSoft continues to raise the bar with a new architecture for industry application development,'' said Ram Gupta, executive vice president, Products and Technology for PeopleSoft. ``With a single product framework, PeopleSoft 8 CRM will uniquely support industry requirements around customers and products without the burden of separate codelines. PeopleSoft's approach will not only deliver best-of-breed industry-specific CRM solutions more quickly to our customers, but will also protect their software investment by significantly reducing their upgrade and maintenance costs.''

PeopleSoft's first industry solution based on its pure internet architecture is PeopleSoft 8 CRM for Financial Services, the next generation of CRM for global banking, insurance and brokerage institutions. PeopleSoft 8 CRM for Financial Services delivers a complete customer view by capturing and displaying the complexities of personal, professional and fiduciary relationships with each customer. The application also delivers a unique customer segmentation ability allowing organizations to align service and responsiveness to their most valued customers. Additionally, PeopleSoft 8 CRM for Financial Services includes a comprehensive security model that provides role-based access to account information.

Specific functionality built into the solution enables a financial institution's support representatives to gain immediate access to a comprehensive customer profile. In addition, customers also have access to their own profile information. The detailed, customer-centric view allows for more informed responses to specific customer inquiries, and enables up-selling and cross-selling of additional financial products and services.

PeopleSoft 8 CRM for Financial Services is currently scheduled to be generally available in December 2001. Additional pure internet CRM industry solutions are expected to be delivered in 2002.
