This new version seamlessly integrates with Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Active Directory®, enabling organizations to deploy a scalable help desk, support center, customer relationship management (CRM), development/bug tracking, IT resource tracking and project management system that leverages their existing Microsoft investment.FootPrints for Exchange provides an easy way to link corporate users, customers and project teams throughout an organization worldwide. Users can access, submit and track trouble tickets and issues, collaborate on projects and tasks and search the knowledge base for online self-service through a browser. The software can significantly reduce support costs, improve customer satisfaction and employee productivity, centrally track issues and problems, eliminate “lost” issues and delays and streamline workflow and business processes. Active Directory and Exchange Server capabilities are an integral part of FootPrints for Exchange. The software features a dynamic link to the Exchange address book, automatically connecting the latest user and customer contact details with the appropriate issues and information in FootPrints. FootPrints for Exchange is certified by the Open Group as an application that meets the LDAP 2000 Product Standard for working with directory servers, including Microsoft’s Active Directory. FootPrints for Exchange can be set up to use Exchange for all outgoing (SMTP) or incoming (via IMAP and/or POP3) email interactions. The software offers extensive integrated email capabilities for organizations to streamline project and issue management, saving time and improving accuracy for all internal and external email communications. FootPrints for Exchange tracks issues and sends outgoing email updates and alerts to support a range of creation, editing and escalation activities. Email attachments are fully supported. It can also send pager or wireless emails with custom message formats, enabling users in the field to seamlessly interact with FootPrints from any location. Technicians and customers can register, update or query the issue database via incoming email. Additionally, the software features forms for Microsoft Outlook, so users can choose to submit and search for issues and solutions and receive email updates and alerts using their desktop Outlook client. “Microsoft is pleased to be working with UniPress in delivering customers a comprehensive solution,” said Kevin McCuistion, Exchange Group Product Manager at Microsoft. “The combination of FootPrints and Exchange will provide a targeted, easy-to-use solution that meets the needs of our mutual customers.” FootPrints for Exchange can be seamlessly deployed within an organization’s existing infrastructure, whether it is a “pure” Microsoft or a mixed environment. The software application runs on Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows NT, and supports the Microsoft IIS web server. Customers’ Microsoft SQL Server and Access databases can be utilized and no database administration is required. Users can export data from within FootPrints for use in a range of applications, including Microsoft Excel, SQL Server and Access.
