FootPrints offers a customizable email format designed to fit the content of email messages within the size of a user’s Palm handheld screen. FootPrints technicians and users can now submit and track issue tickets, be informed of new assignments, receive escalation alerts and update status in real-time from almost any location, using their Palm handheld computer. No additional set-up or configuration is required to enable the two-way wireless interaction between FootPrints and the Palm handheld. For instance, field technicians can submit issues to FootPrints using the iMessaging tool in the Palm VIIx handheld, and receive email alerts from FootPrints to their Palm handhelds when a specific issue has been assigned or escalated to them. Real-time data can be accessed using FootPrints’ wireless format for email queries, allowing users to view calls assigned to them, track ticket progress and search the FootPrints knowledge base by key word to access quick solutions from almost any location.
