CRM Headline News

EDISON, NJ (October 7, 2003) – UniPress Software, Inc. (Company Profile, Past Stories, Case Studies), a leading provider of web-based service desk automation software, today announced that its’ award-winning FootPrints® product now features support for SpamAssassin™, one of the most advanced anti-spam protection solutions. This new, enhanced spam elimination capability enables organizations using the FootPrints web-based service desk solution to control the influx of inbound spam that can slow help desks and call center operations, bog down workflow, and negatively impact service levels and response times.

FootPrints is a comprehensive, easy-to-use customer issue tracking tool used for internal and external support operations. It includes a broad range of features and functionality such as two-way e-mail management to process service requests. The SpamAssassin integration expands on FootPrints’ existing built-in auto-detection control functionality that prevents spam loops from opening up false trouble-tickets. Additionally, SpamAssassin includes advanced filtering capabilities.

“Spam is becoming an increasingly serious nuisance to help desks and service centers that rely on email to effectively communicate with internal and external audiences,” said Mark Kreiger, President of UniPress Software.  “By integrating SpamAssassin technology into FootPrints, we are now able to provide advanced filtering capabilities to systematically reduce the influx of inbound spam, ultimately improving the quality, speed, and responsiveness of an organization’s service and support operations.”

SpamAssassin is an open-source solution widely heralded as a breakthrough in spam control.  While it utilizes traditional binary rules-based filters to determine if a message is spam, its power lies in its probabilistic, score-based approach to classifying messages. SpamAssassin analyzes each email message against multiple criteria and assigns it a numerical rating.  If the message rating exceeds the level set by the user, the message is marked as spam and filtered accordingly.
FootPrints is an easy-to-use, 100% web-based service desk that enables organizations to proactively manage internal help desk and external customer support initiatives. It offers a multi-channel service desk to centrally track, manage, and control issues and service requests received from email, the Internet, fax, telephone, and wireless devices. The system includes centralized customer issue tracking, self-service online, two-way email management, knowledge management, and powerful reporting. FootPrints can be up and running in one day without any programming or database administration.

Available today, FootPrints starts at $3995 for an initial starter pack of 3-fixed agent licenses. Each additional license is under $1000. Volume, concurrent, and site license pricing is available. The SpamAssassin capability is included in FootPrints 6.0c release. Contact UniPress Software for additional details.
