Support.com Issued Fifth Technology Patent

Support Automation Leader Secures Exclusive Rights to Innovative Support Technology

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--Nov. 8, 2001--Support.com, Inc. (Nasdaq:SPRT - news), the world's leading provider of support automation software, today announced that it has been issued its fifth technology patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office, furthering the Company's leadership position in delivering state-of-the-art solutions for automated support.

The new patent covers Support.com's SmartIssue(TM) technology and involves SmartIssue's system and method for automatically categorizing and characterizing data derived from computer-based systems.
