SUPPORT.COM APPOINTS BRIAN BEATTIE AS ITS FIRST CFOFormer Nortel Networks executive joins leading Internet support infrastructure companyNew York, October 7, 1999 - Support.com, Inc. Mr. Beattie comes to Support.com with 19 years of experience at Nortel Networks, where he held a variety of senior management positions that cut across all aspects of the company's networking communications portfolios. In his most recent position as vice president of mergers and acquisitions, Mr. Beattie was involved in the acquisition of several high tech companies, an IPO, and several divestitures. Prior to that, as group vice president of Meridian Solutions, Mr. Beattie held global responsibility over Nortel's PBX business, call centers, in-building wireless, and unified messaging product lines. He was also vice president of finance for Nortel's enterprise networks business. Mr. Beattie holds a bachelor's degree in commerce and an MBA in international business and finance from Concordia University in Montreal.
