TeamShare Software Development Seminars Presented by Customers

LookSmart, AT&T Broadband, and IndyMac Bank Successfully Conclude

Colorado Springs, CO (September 10, 2002) - TeamShare, a leader in enterprise software for collaborative product development, successfully completed a first round of free seminars focused on the Software Development Process.  The seminars featured presentations by TeamShare customers, including LookSmart, AT&T Broadband and IndyMac Bank.  The speakers presented their experience with TeamTrack to software developers from American Honda, AAA Southern California, Texas Instruments, EDS, Unisys, Yamaha and other companies. With a powerful workflow engine and ease of use, TeamTrack software helps companies create or streamline business processes in order to improve product development and operations efficiency, as well as enforce those processes.

Larkin Ryder, director of program management within LookSmart's product development organization, kicked off the seminar series with the San Francisco presentation, outlining how LookSmart uses TeamTrack to increase software quality and decrease time-to-deployment, with process integrity and consistency in their software development lifecycles.

LookSmart chose TeamTrack to help ensure quality, automate their software defect logging, tracking and resolution process in the development of its popular LookSmart Internet search directory.  LookSmart needed a solution that met the needs for both the QA and Production environments and could be customized for optimal use by all teams.

"What has been most surprising to me is the universal enthusiasm for process enforcement," said Ryder. "Everyone wants to use TeamTrack to organize requests coming into their team.  I have significant implementations for Sales Order Processing, IT Tickets, Product Issues, and HR already in place.  Many other design requests are in my queue, including Procurement."

TeamTrack also provided LookSmart with measurable return on investment (ROI), a key factor in the current economy.  According to Ryder, "The cost justification of any quality infrastructure tool can be tricky.  Downtime in our production environment can cost thousands of dollars in a very short amount of time.  TeamTrack helped to reduce the time to process a sales order from 45 to 15 days. It does an excellent job of helping the organization manage accountability since ownership in the workflow is clear and it paid for itself quickly by making issue notification faster and allowing automatic escalation of aging critical issues."

Debra Massey, Corporate Quality Engineering/Configuration Manager for AT&T Broadband, and presenter at TeamShare's San Diego seminar, said TeamTrack helped the company reduce their time-to-market by 3 months.  "Even with limited budget and resources, TeamTrack was a key factor in reducing our time-to-market by approximately three months on a highly visible product involving multiple companies. TeamTrack ensured adherence to our best-practices development processes making communication and collaboration more efficient and effective, while meeting our strict security requirements."

"The software that performs our development and testing must be as defect free as possible.  TeamTrack has made it easy for us to enforce our best practices while bringing visibility to potential issues.  Its natural extension into other departments has made a tremendous impact on our ability to provide our customers with the best products and services without worrying about behind-the-scenes issues," said Gina Shaw, Senior QA Analyst for IndyMac Bank and presenter at the Los Angeles seminar.

Additional free software development seminars presented by TeamShare customers including Dell, CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield, Managed Objects and ADP are planned for October. More information about upcoming TeamShare events is available at www.teamshare.com.
