TEAMSHARE, INC. ANNOUNCES INTEGRATION WITH MICROSOFT PROJECTLeading software company offers integration between project management and process management software applicationsCOLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (August 8, 2001) - TeamShare, Inc. a leading developer of Web-architected collaboration software, today announced the integration of its tTrack issue and defect tracking solution with Microsoft Project 2000, the industry's leading project planning software."Microsoft is excited about TeamShare integrating its issue-tracking solution, tTrack, with Microsoft Project," said Jon Jaffe, product manager at Microsoft Corporation. "This integration will aid project managers in the execution of their projects by adding automated workflow to Microsoft Project as well as providing them with the ability to route tasks through configurable process workflows, making it a very powerful solution." The two software applications from Microsoft and TeamShare, a Microsoft Project partner, are an ideal complement to facilitate an efficient and sound project process. The integration fundamentally augments Microsoft Project by adding workflow, ensuring that all project team members have the right information at the right time while giving ownership and accountability to assigned resources in Microsoft Project. "Delivering on schedule is critical to our success. We rely heavily on the integration between tTrack and Microsoft Project to improve communication and completion of our projects on time. Schedules change quite often and it is difficult to communicate all the changes in a timely manner, especially when multiple companies are involved. This integration will make it much easier by streamlining communication among all team members whether within our company or across multiple companies," said Nicole Roberts, Senior Specialist at Delta Environmental Consultants. Though Microsoft and TeamShare will both continue to separately manufacture and market their own software packages, the two companies' products will be made technically compatible through TeamShare's newly developed Open Workflow Alliance, or OWA. OWA allows for the automated exchange of data across different applications ¾ a critical enhancement for any business that must have information flow quickly and accurately between divisions that use different applications. "This partnership was really driven by our customers," said Kelly Shaw, director of Strategic Alliances for TeamShare. "They want and expect software tools that work together. And while Microsoft Project is a wonderful tool for planning projects, our customers were looking for a tool that would allow them to take it to the next level by allowing them to easily implement and manage their projects." The benefits of the integration with Microsoft Project are reflective of the overall benefits offered with OWA and other TeamShare tools. In addition, OWA allows departments to choose those tools that work best for them instead of being bound by certain products simply because they are offered in a suite. TeamShare's OWA is capable of integrating with all product development tools currently on the market. "In a typical software development environment, different job functions such as sales, engineering, quality assurance and customer support, use different tools to manage their respective workflows," said Shaw. "As a result, an automated communication platform between departments has been out of reach ¾ until now."
