CRM Headline News

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Aug. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SupportSoft (Company Profile, Past Stories, Case Studies), Inc. (Nasdaq: SPRT - News), a leading provider of Real-Time Service Management (RTSM(TM)) software, today announced that TDC Cable TV, a subsidiary of TDC Group and one of the largest Nordic cable providers, has licensed SupportSoft software to help its almost 1 million subscribers get up and running more quickly when they require a high-speed Internet connection. The SupportSoft software, which also provides for automated installation and maintenance of a home network, is further designed to extend more comprehensive self-service functionality for problem diagnosis and resolution to TDC Cable TV's Webspeed subscribers.

TDC Cable TV plans to deploy SupportSoft SmartAccess(TM) software to ease home broadband adoption by providing automated installation and activation for new subscribers. SupportSoft's SmartAccess solution enables new TDC Cable TV broadband customers to automatically determine if their computing system qualifies for a high-speed connection, and if so, quickens the installation process by allowing for automated self-installation. Once connected, if the subscriber chooses to install a wired or wireless home network for file or print sharing within the household, TDC Cable TV can assist through use of SupportSoft's HomeNet solution, which offers TDC Cable TV customers an easy way to pre-qualify, install, configure and receive ongoing support for a home network.

SupportSoft's service automation solutions are designed to assist TDC Cable TV's Webspeed subscribers to more quickly resolve support issues, helping to increase customer satisfaction while decreasing operational costs. For example, SupportSoft's Subscriber Agent software, which TDC Cable TV plans to roll out to all existing and new customers, can transparently diagnose a problem and provide an automated "self-healing" repair. In doing so, SupportSoft Subscriber Agent makes self-service a more rewarding experience by enabling broadband subscribers to understand and manage their own connection.

"A key to TDC Cable TV's rapid broadband growth of over 88% in 2003 alone has been to give our subscribers more choice in the services we provide. Enhanced customer service for Webspeed subscribers is the latest example of this commitment," said Jeanette D. Hartz VD of Product Management TDC Cable TV A/S. "With the help of SupportSoft, we plan to add new automated self-service channels to create an even greater broadband experience for our Webspeed customers while containing costs. At TDC Cable TV we firmly believe that customers want proven technology that can help them manage their lives better, not technology that manages them."

"SupportSoft is excited to work with yet another leading European broadband provider in TDC Cable TV. We share their commitment to creating a great experience for their broadband customers," said Radha Basu, chairman and CEO of SupportSoft. "With SupportSoft's new presence in Denmark we are now helping high speed data providers in every Nordic country to achieve the same great results that TDC Cable TV plans to accomplish."
