PTC Wins SSPA STAR Award for Customer Service Excellence

WALTHAM, Mass., October 27, 2000 – PTC (Nasdaq: PMTC), announced today the acceptance of the Software Technical Assistance Recognition (STAR) Award for customer service excellence presented by the Software Support Professionals Association (SSPA). PTC’s award was given in the category of electronic support. The STAR award honors those companies who have outstanding accomplishments and superior performance in the delivery of technical support to their customers.

In addition to the traditional technical support services, PTC has provided Web-based tools for software asset management. These tools allow customers to modify their software configurations 24 hours a day via the Internet. With the recent introduction of the PTC On-line Store, customers are able to purchase, install, and configure their software completely on-line.

PTC also offers a knowledge base monitor that allows a customer to subscribe to information updates on products of interest to that customer. Whenever a document is added or changed in the PTC library of Web-based Technical Documents for any product and module selected by the customer, the customer is notified automatically by email. The customer can change the subscription criteria at any time.
