CRM Headline News

SAN DIEGO, Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Venetica, the leading provider of enterprise content integration (ECI) software, today announced at Siebel User Week 2003 that it has joined the Siebel Alliance Program as a Software Partner. Siebel Systems (Company Profile, Past Stories, Case Studies) , Inc. (Nasdaq: SEBL - News) is a leading provider of multichannel business applications software. This alliance will focus on developing solutions that will enable Siebel users to leverage the large volume of customer data that often exists, across organizations, as unstructured content in multiple, disparate repositories.

Siebel Systems provides organizations with a proven set of industry-specific best practices, CRM applications software, and business processes, enabling corporations to sell to, market to, and serve customers across multiple channels and lines of business. Venetica delivers competitive advantage to today's real-time enterprise by enabling applications to quickly integrate with multiple, disparate content repositories and business processes. By using Venetica's enterprise content integration solutions in conjunction with Siebel eBusiness Applications, Siebel users will be able to access and work with customer content directly through the Siebel environment, increasing sales productivity, enhancing customer service, reducing costs, increasing end-user adoption, and generating new insight that structured data alone can't provide.

Critical customer content, such as contracts, proposals, presentations, correspondence, invoices and other unstructured assets, often resides in multiple systems across the enterprise: content management systems, imaging systems, collaboration systems, workflow systems and file systems. This requires individual sales people, service reps and administrative personnel to work in many environments to get their work done. This complexity can interfere with the adoption and full utilization of CRM projects, thereby jeopardizing the intended ROI. Venetica's enterprise content integration solutions address these issues by helping the CRM system become the hub of all customer-related activity.

"An enterprise content integration strategy is a critical success factor for CRM implementations because customer information is not just in one place. Knowing when and how to tightly integrate across the technology ecosystem will remain one of the most difficult challenges," said Liz Roche, Vice President and Director, CRM Infusion Program, Meta Group. "ECI helps create a panoramic view of the customer and enables users to integrate content, context and collaboration for a truly customer-focused environment."

"Even at companies that have aggressively implemented CRM applications, much of the activity with a customer occurs through documents and workflows outside the CRM system-contract reviews, customer presentations, email correspondence, and so on," said Stuart Levinson, President and CEO, Venetica. "Venetica is partnering with Siebel Systems to help Global 2000 customers drive further value from their existing investments in CRM by providing a single interface to all the information pertaining to a customer relationship."

Venetica's ECI capabilities will allow Siebel users to browse multiple repositories, perform searches across one or more systems and manage the content stored within these systems-all through a single, consistent interface. In addition, users will be able to create associations between Siebel objects (sales opportunities, customer profiles, support incidents) and related content that is managed in disparate content repositories. These associations-called "views"-will provide users the relevant information they need to do their work from a single location. These views will present users with a single view of tasks to be completed, even if the work process is managed by multiple workflow systems. Venetica is currently developing an integrated solution and will submit the completed integration to Siebel Systems for testing through the Siebel Validation Program in Q1 2004.
