Oracle To Work With Sideware To Deliver Integrated Online Collaborative Solutions In Connection With Oracle Partner Program

Sideware Integration to Enhance Oracle’s CRM Applications

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Nov. 15, 2000 ¾ ( http://www.oracle.com/tellmemore/?433140 ) Oracle Corp., the largest provider of software for e-business, today announced plans to work with Sideware  to integrate Sideware’s Web collaboration solutions with the Oracle® E-Business Suite in connection with Sideware’s membership in the Oracle Partner Program.  The Sideware integration with the Oracle E-Business Suite is expected to enhance real-time, collaborative capabilities of Oracle’s customer relationship management (CRM) applications.

Sideware’s solutions are expected to augment the E-Business Suite with online collaboration enhancements of live-chat, whiteboarding, co-browsing and Web page push capabilities.  Sideware’s Java-based OnCall and SME products can be easily integrated into Oracle applications, and Sideware products run on all major servers and operating systems.

“Oracle and Sideware have been working together for the past year and we have collaborated on a number of customer deals, “ said James Speros, President and CEO of Sideware.  “This evolution of our partnership is the latest successful collaboration between the two companies.  We are pleased to partner with Oracle in the CRM market to deliver capabilities that produce competitive advantages for our customers.”

The Oracle E-Business Suite is the industry's only comprehensive suite of applications that manages and automates the entire extended enterprise, by combining front- and back-office operations into a single, integrated system.  The CRM applications of the Oracle E-Business Suite enable businesses to integrate marketing, sales and service operations to acquire, retain, and better serve their customers.

The collaborative solutions that Sideware offers enable companies to improve customer interactions.  Live chat allows customers one-on-one interaction with service representatives to answer questions about problems through the Internet.  To assist with a customer query for product information, a service or sales representative has a fully functional browser to “push” Web pages real-time to the customer.  Whiteboarding capabilities enable real-time graphical highlighting of information to emphasize key product features for a service-related question or sales opportunity.

Joint customers include:

HealthNet International

Healthnet International ( http://www.hlnt.net ), a multinational application service provider, used an Oracle e-business solution enhanced by Sideware to provide turnkey e-commerce Web sites for the health sector through their eHealthstores program, which enables "brick-and-mortar" healthcare businesses to reach customers through the Internet.  "We are pleased with the exceptional value we have received from Sideware's ability to seamlessly integrate our extensive product database with the Oracle CRM foundation," said Healthnet President and CEO, Grant Johnson.  "With the extended customer reach of the Internet and the crucial need for customer interaction, this solution has been a positive addition to our infrastructure."

Traq-wireless

Traq-wireless, a company that is developing innovative wireless management solutions for businesses to organize, analyze and optimize corporate wireless users and expenses, chose Oracle’s CRM and Sideware solutions.  A Web-based strategy is central to traq-wireless’ corporate mission. "Sideware and Oracle's solution will provide us a fully integrated view of our customers, as well as a more efficient means of communication with a personal touch,"  said Lynn Rowell, Business System Manager for traq-wireless.

“Sideware brings an additional Web collaboration component to our CRM solution that is mission critical to online businesses,” said Linda Zecher, senior vice president of e- Business Applications at Oracle. “To provide that ultimate customer experience, companies need to be communicating in real-time with their customers, and Sideware can deliver that collaboration capability.”

To introduce executives to the benefits of e-business and Web collaboration, Oracle and Sideware hosted a customer event in Dallas on Nov. 9 and another one will take place in New York on Nov. 30.  Registration for these events can be accomplished on the Web at http://www.sideware.com/
