ServiceWare Launches International User Group at Knowledge-Trak '99Encourages Expanded Customer Interaction Through Council; Recognizes Leading Customer InnovationsPITTSBURGH, PA (Sept. 24, 1999) - In a continuing effort to facilitate worldwide interaction among knowledge management experts, ServiceWare Inc. formally launched the ServiceWare User Group at it's recent Knowledge-Trak '99 customer conference held in Scottsdale, Az. The event also marked the recognition of six ServiceWare customers for their innovative use of ServiceWare's knowledge management tools for sales, service, and support.Greg Algorri, PC LAN Support Analyst at Walt Disney World Company, is spearheading the ServiceWare User Group as International Chairperson. Supporting Mr. Algori as Regional Directors are: Brian Loomis of Charles Schwab & Co., Inc.; Tham Nguyen of Texas Instruments Inc.; Mark Swartwout of Johnson Controls Inc., and Dave Breit of Fore Systems Inc. Mark Tapling, President and COO of ServiceWare states, "This grassroots organization will help us further respond to the demands of the marketplace. I'm especially proud of the leadership shown by the user group's executive board. It shows real commitment not only to ServiceWare, but the industry at large." During Knowledge-Pak '99 ServiceWare also recognized six customers who have implemented outstanding, innovative uses of ServiceWare products. Winners include Stream International, Compaq, Texas Instruments, Reynolds Metals, Deere and Company, and Marriott. "Stream is pleased to receive recognition for our implementation of Knowledge Bridge, which we have integrated into our service offering as Intellectual Edge," said Sharon Stier, Stream's Director of Knowledge Management. "We are deploying this scalable knowledge system globally for the benefit of our clients and more than 5,500 employees," she added. The conference, held at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort in Arizona, offered a unique opportunity for ServiceWare customers to learn, share and discuss ideas and experiences, and gather input on industry trends and issues in the context of ServiceWare's solutions for sales, service and support. This year's conference attracted more than 125 users from throughout the world, 40 percent of whom were representing Fortune 500 companies. More than 100 hours of conference sessions and workshops on knowledge management took place.
