SalesLogix Now Provides Advanced Microsoft® Outlook™ IntegrationFlexible, affordable CRM solution works the way mid-size companies want to workSCOTTSDALE, AZ — October 31, 2001 — Interact Commerce Corporation, the makers of SalesLogix®, the leader in small business and mid-market CRM, and ACT!®, the best-selling contact manager, today announced the availability of SalesLogix version 5.2 featuring Advanced Outlook Integration and SalesLogix KnowledgeSync. “Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for small and mid-sized companies to transition to CRM,” said Pat Sullivan, general manager, SalesLogix division and CEO, Interact Commerce. “We know that the majority of our customers are standardized on Outlook for e-mail and corporate calendaring. With our new Advanced Outlook Integration, users have tremendous flexibility to work the way they want, using both Outlook and SalesLogix in a way that no other CRM product has enabled before.” SalesLogix v5.2 enables users to capitalize on their SalesLogix data, making them more efficient with daily tasks such as e-mail and calendaring and more effective when collaborating with non-SalesLogix users. SalesLogix v5.2 also features SalesLogix KnowledgeSync BusinessAlerts and E-mail Response, which allow users to set and monitor business conditions based on predefined data conditions and resulting actions. With this SalesLogix release, users can now: Work within Outlook while utilizing critical data in SalesLogix. From within Outlook, users can now select recipients from the new SalesLogix Address Book, record a history of the e-mail in SalesLogix, save attachments in SalesLogix, and attach files from the SalesLogix Library, without even opening SalesLogix. In addition, Outlook can automatically flag e-mails sent from customers or prospects in SalesLogix so they are easily identified for follow-up. Schedule meetings with non-SalesLogix users. SalesLogix has embedded the Outlook “Attendee Availability” tab and now leverages Outlook Meeting Request e-mails and the “Accept/Decline” process to ease the task of scheduling meetings between SalesLogix and non-SalesLogix users. SalesLogix can also open their Outlook calendar from within SalesLogix. Save time by removing the need to double enter contacts. When creating or viewing a contact record in SalesLogix, users can now replicate contacts in Outlook with a single click. Forget about the task of synching. Synchronization runs automatically and silently so users never have to think about clicking a button or running a program. Sync data to any PDA device. Now that SalesLogix and Outlook databases automatically synchronize, SalesLogix users can sync contacts, calendar items, and tasks from Outlook to any PDA that synchronizes with Outlook, including Palm-powered handhelds, Pocket PCs, Blackberry handhelds, and smart phones. Stay on top of critical business information with SalesLogix KnowledgeSync. Users can receive alerts on time-sensitive business data via e-mail, fax, pager, PDA, cell phone, and/or web browser. In addition, E-mail Response monitors all incoming mail messages and automatically responds with personalized messages and takes the appropriate predefined actions in SalesLogix. SalesLogix v5.2 supports both Microsoft Windows XP and Office XP. All integration was written utilizing Extended MAPI (as opposed to the Outlook Object Model), which integrates seamlessly to virus-secure versions of Outlook. SalesLogix v5.2 is available today to all SalesLogix customers with active maintenance contracts.
