SalesLogix Selected by University of Houston as Platform for Fall Term Customer Relationship Management Class

Business School Reinforces Leadership by Providing Students With Relevant Experience Using Leading CRM Solution for Small- to Mid-Sized Implementations

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--Sept. 19, 2000--Interact Commerce Corp. (Nasdaq: IACT - news), the leading provider of interactive selling solutions, Tuesday announced that the University of Houston, a public Carnegie Research I University, is using SalesLogix for the Business School's Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship's program for Excellence in Selling.

Students implemented the SalesLogix system with guidance from Interact Commerce business partner Harris Technologies who donated time as part of their commitment to community service.

Course objectives include learning how to define business processes that touch customers and using technology to create proficiency in managing customer relationships. Students enrolled in the program, who have been selected via application, are eligible to take the class.

The Program for Excellence in Selling trains students, facilitates internships and assists placements that foster local and national business development. Throughout the semester, students learn, in teams, about customer relationship management techniques and how to implement a successful business-wide process using this technology.

This is accomplished by adopting a local business and modeling a case study after their sales plan. The university selected SalesLogix because it was created to ensure that entire business teams leverage collective customer knowledge. In addition, it is easy to use, customizable and has a proven track record with growing businesses around the world.

``The University of Houston is proud of the Program for Excellence for many reasons; the most important is the boost it provides to local businesses. Graduating students have been taught customer-centric selling behavior and understand the importance of using technology to increase selling efficiency and improve customer satisfaction,'' said Chris Bush, executive professor and program co-director.

``Our classes are hands on and have specific goals with measurable criteria. To teach students how to leverage sales and customer care processes with technology, we needed the industry's leading solution for our students. We thoroughly investigated all the CRM solutions available and choose SalesLogix because we knew our students would get up to speed quickly using it.''

``The University of Houston's mission is to provide new graduates early job placement and performance excellence. By creating this program and leveraging SalesLogix technology, the university is potentially providing Houston businesses a huge advantage,'' said Pat Sullivan, president and chief executive officer Interact Commerce.

``The program should create a generation of graduates who are trained to improve customer satisfaction, increase revenues immediately, and have valuable experience with the leading CRM solution necessary to accomplish these goals.''
