RightNow eService Center Gains Rehabilitation Act Section 508 Certification

Accommodation of visual impairment and other disabilities increases appeal of leading customer service solution to government agencies

Bozeman, MT (September 23, 2002) – RightNow Technologies Inc., a leading global provider of eService solutions expertise, today announced its award-winning RightNow eService Center solution version 5.5 has been independently certified as Section 508 compliant.  The certification was carried out by Sterling, Va.-based TestPros, which specializes in Section 508 testing and remediation.

RightNow has a longstanding commitment to making its software accessible to people with disabilities.  This certification provides third-party verification that the RightNow solution meets Federal accessibility standards.

RightNow has already been widely embraced by federal, state, and local governments, as well as higher education institutions as a highly resource-effective means of publishing critical information to constituents via the Web, as well as managing email and chat communications in an integrated, intuitive manner.

Section 508 of the Remediation Act requires that Federal agencies’ electronic and information technology is accessible to people with disabilities, including employees and members of the public.  It establishes requirements for any electronic and information technology developed, maintained, procured, or used by the Federal government.

Many eCRM developers have as yet failed to pursue or achieve Section 508 certification, adding to the already compelling differentiation between RightNow eService Center and ostensibly competitive products.
