RightNow Technologies (Company Profile, Past Stories, Case Studies), the world’s leading provider of hosted customer service and support solutions, today announced the hiring of 29-year industry veteran Peter P. Dunning as Executive Vice President for Worldwide Field Operations.  Dunning has held executive roles at Oracle, SAP, and most recently, S1 Corporation.  In his new role, Dunning will lead the global field operations of both RightNow’s award-winning technology solutions and its value-added professional services division.

Dunning brings a proven track record of rapidly growing revenues for both established and private technology companies.  As executive vice president of SAP’s Global Accounts group, he led a 1,200-person organization that accounted for more than $1 billion in revenue and 60 percent of America’s revenue.

He was then recruited by Oracle and led a 2,500-person organization focused on industry verticals such as high technology, energy, automotive, and retail/consumer goods.  This represented one-third of U.S. revenues totaling $1.3 billion dollars.  In addition, Dunning also ran the applications business worldwide.

After leaving Oracle, Dunning was CEO at two B2B private companies.  Before being hired by RightNow, he was Executive Vice President and General Manager of S1 Corporation, a $280 million publicly traded financial services software provider headquartered in Atlanta, GA.  Dunning ran the Americas, which comprised 80 percent of S1’s revenues, and led a team of 500 individuals across pre-sales, sales, and consulting.  In this role he provided leadership to the sales and service operations of the North American business and also gave strategic guidance to the Company on a global scale.

“Peter Dunning has an extraordinary track record of success in building highly productive global sales and services teams and executing effective vertical market strategies,” Greg Gianforte, RightNow founder and CEO, said.  “His skills and experience are a perfect fit for RightNow as we aggressively move to build marketshare in targeted industries and geographies around the world.”

“RightNow is currently poised to significantly influence how companies around the world interact with their customers by leveraging customer service as a distinct business advantage,” Dunning said.  “I’m very enthusiastic about joining a company that is becoming a global leader in customer service and support, and that has the potential for tremendous revenue growth.”
