Pro Tech Unveils Four New Products at ICCM Show

FORT PIERCE, Fla., Aug. 1, 2001 — Pro Tech Communications, Inc. (OTCBB: PCTU), a subsidiary of NCT Group, Inc. (OTCBB: NCTI), today introduced four significant new products — a headset, multimedia amplifier, USB (Universal Serial Bus) audio interface, and DSP (Digital Signal Processor) microphone— at a press conference at International Call Center Management (ICCM) Conference and Exposition, McCormick Place, Chicago.
Pro Tech’s Apollo headset is a new one-piece ABS plastic structure for long-term durability. It has a patented quick-disconnect cable for easy headset release at any telephone, call center or office and includes a high-end noise-canceling microphone for exceptional audio clarity. With a suggested list price of $100 for a monaural unit or $120 for a binaural unit, the Apollo costs 10-15 percent less than competitive products.
Pro Tech’s new Gemini multimedia amplifier is used for either telephones or PC’s enabling voice-over IP applications. It introduces top mounted volume controls, and features dual mute switches and headset jacks for easy use by both a call center supervisor and representative at the same time. The patented gating and suppression circuitry provides superior sound, while the new developed VOX control, filters out desired levels of background noise. A sleep mode was engineered to automatically extend battery life. The suggested list price, $115-135, is 10-15% less than any comparable product.
The new Pro Tech USB (Universal Serial Bus) audio interface represents a brand new concept for voice-over IP because it offers a direct audio port, eliminating the need for a sound card. (A sound card can provide poor audio quality and does not always allow both parties to talk at the same time.) Moreover, the interface is compatible with existing headsets and has a direct digital input with volume control and recording capabilities. Suggested list price is $79.99.
The Pro Tech DSP (Digital Signal Processor) intelligent microphone provides speech recognition, voice control, dictation and other features of high signal clarity, through proprietary algorithms and unique acoustic design. It is universally compatible in that its output levels can be matched to the required input levels. It sits on top of a computer and absorbs sound in a 30-degree arc. Suggested list price: $109.99.
Richard Hennessey, President of Pro Tech, said, “Our four new products broaden our lines for the call center, office and home markets with several significant advantages. Combined with our low prices, they are unbeatable.”
