Pragmatech Announces Its Ranking in Inc 500 and Deloitte & Touche Fast 500 Lists

Despite tough economic times, Amherst, NH company continues to grow revenues

Amherst, New Hampshire, October 16, 2002— Pragmatech Software, the leading provider of sales effectiveness and proposal automation solutions, today announced that it has once again been named to the Inc 500 and  Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 500 lists, two rankings of the 500 fastest-growing companies in North America. Pragmatech experienced 614% growth over a 5-year period, with $8.1 million in revenues for the year ended 2001. The company was first recognized by the Inc 500 and Deloitte & Touche Fast 500 in 2001.

“Pragmatech’s revenue growth over the past 5 years is a result of our unrelenting focus on providing the best solutions for critical business needs,” said Brooke Savage, co- founder of Pragmatech Software. "Inclusion in the prestigious Inc and Deloitte & Touche rankings for 2 consecutive years shows that strong results can be achieved through our continued dedication to customers and teamwork.”

“Even with the current economic conditions, Pragmatech continues to meet its sales targets,” said Melissa Mabon, co-founder of Pragmatech Software. “Recognition from these two leading firms attests that we're on track with our business approach and corporate strategies.”

“This is the first Inc 500 ranking to reflect the full impact of the recession,” said Inc editor, John Koten. “Yet these entrepreneurs are managing to confound the naysayers and move ahead despite the obstacles. They’re showing that smart strategies can succeed even in the toughest of times.”

The average 5-year growth rate of this year’s Inc 500 companies was 1,521 %. While that is less than the 1,933% average for companies on last year’s list, it is nonetheless dramatic in the current economic environment. More than two-thirds of 2002 Inc 500 companies are profitable. Despite the technology bust, computer software and services remains the leading industry category, representing nearly 40% of firms on the list.

“Making the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 500 is a testament to a company’s leadership, commitment to technology, and ability to deliver the right solution at the right time,” said Mark A. Evans, managing director, Deloitte & Touche Technology, Media & Telecommunications Group. “With its 614% growth rate over 5 years, Pragmatech Software has proven that its leadership has the vision and determination to succeed, and we at Deloitte & Touche salute their accomplishments.”

The Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 500 program recognizes companies that have achieved the most rapid revenue growth between 1997 and 2001. The average increase in revenues among companies who made the 2002 Fast 500 list was 6,772%.
