Former PRIMEDIA Exec Brings Unique Blend of Financial and Corporate Expertise to Growing International Consulting Firm

Norwalk, CT.  November 14, 2000.  Peppers and Rogers Group, the management consulting and media firm that specializes in Customer Relationship Management and e-business solutions, has named Douglas B. Smith as CFO.  The decision comes as an integral part of the firm’s growth plans and further strengthens Peppers and Rogers Group’s focus to attain global recognition as the premier, strategy consulting firm that helps clients create 1to1® relationships with their customers.

Previously, Smith was Senior Vice President and Treasurer of PRIMEDIA, Inc., a NYSE $1.7 billion media conglomerate that operates a diverse group of consumer- and B2B-focused print, video and Internet businesses, including nearly 400 magazines, 300 Web sites, and educational video and training programs.

In seven years at PRIMEDIA (formerly K-III), Smith raised more than $5 billion dollars for the rapidly expanding company and played a major role in the 1995 $170 million IPO which aggressively positioned PRIMEDIA as a major player.  Smith joined PRIMEDIA in 1993 following eleven years with Bank of New York where he rose to Senior Vice President and Eastern Division Head of Communications, Entertainment and Publishing.
