Utility Service Company, Inc. Creates Dynamic Customer Relationships With Oracle(R) E-Business Suite OutsourcingLeading Water Tank Maintenance Provider Lowers Total Cost of Ownership And Maximizes Resources with Oracle Applications Delivered as a ServiceREDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ( http://www.oracle.com/tellmemore/?1555929 ) Oracle Corporation (Nasdaq: ORCL - News), the world's largest enterprise software company, today announced that Utility Service Company, Inc. (USCI), the premier provider of professional water tank services in the United States, has implemented the Oracle® E-Business Suite to help it transform and standardize corporate procedures, improve current and potential customer relationships and streamline critical business flows. To help lower its total cost of ownership, USCI chose Oracle Outsourcing to deliver, maintain and support the Oracle E-Business Suite. Oracle's software as a service model has allowed USCI to reallocate the efforts of its internal information technology (IT) staff to focus on other projects that contribute to improving the company's corporate efficiency. When its legacy systems began straining to support the over 5,000+ ongoing water tank maintenance projects and its internal staff of 200, USCI migrated to the Oracle E- Business Suite to synchronize its business operations and customer interactions. The customer relationship management (CRM) capabilities within the Oracle E-Business Suite enable USCI to automatically evaluate and prioritize sales leads, improving time and cost allocations for each water tank maintenance project. As a result, USCI has been able to improve sales force management and cultivate profitable sales opportunities. "For our organization to deliver exceptional service on every project we undertake, we needed a tightly integrated, e-business platform to optimize our sales initiatives and customer interactions. The Oracle E-Business Suite enables us to unify our front-end and back-end systems to improve employee productivity while making more accurate sales forecasts and customer bids," said David Alkhazrjai, IT manager for Utility Service Company, Inc. "Because of Utility Service Company IT budget concerns, Oracle Outsourcing has proven to be an ideal solution. It has reduced our overall IT costs without sacrificing the functionality or quality of the Oracle products." With the assistance of Oracle Consulting, USCI upgraded to the Oracle E-Business Suite in a matter of months and has effectively deployed CRM applications such as Oracle Sales Online and Oracle Configurator throughout its organization. Oracle Sales Online controls sales costs by providing field sales representatives with the appropriate tools to provide both customers and management with specific business intelligence and information. USCI is using this application to manage customer profiles and track sales activity, strengthening relationships and effectively managing the cost of each, individual maintenance project. The integration between Oracle's applications enables USCI to support multiple selling channels, deliver accurate information to its sales force and route customized orders directly to production centers strategically located throughout the United States. "With the Oracle E-Business Suite firmly in place, our organization now is better equipped to nurture stronger, lasting relationships with our customers and institute organizational processes that focus on achieving customer satisfaction with every maintenance project," continued David Alkhazrjai. "In particular, Oracle Configurator has streamlined our quoting process to implement pricing parameters among our sales force, which has saved our organization numerous backend costs and assures our customers that they are receiving the best services quote." By February 2003, USCI expects to have completely replaced its internal legacy systems with Oracle E-Business Suite Outsourcing. USCI will also consider adding Oracle mobile functionality and Oracle9i Application Server Portal to future deployments. About Oracle Oracle is the world's largest enterprise software company.
