For example, using Oracle9i Application Server Portal to coordinate employee travel reservations, Emerson Motor Technologies decreased the number of travel agents from 20 to one and attained a 20 percent cost savings over a two-year period. The company also realized a 50 percent savings in paper costs and a $90,000 savings in office supplies over a nine-month period by using the Oracle portal capabilities to streamline purchase orders.
