Oracle Launches AppsWorld Online

Online Conference Provides Oracle Applications User Community With Complementary Programming to Popular AppsWorld Conferences

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Oct. 2 / -- ( http://www.oracle.com/tellmemore/?893998 ) Oracle Corp. (Nasdaq: ORCL - news), the largest provider of software for e-business, today announced the online call for papers for Oracle® AppsWorld Online, a new, continuous online resource accessible via Oracle's successful applications user community, Oracle AppsNet. This free, online resource is open to all users, customers, partners and implementers of Oracle Applications.

Oracle AppsWorld Online complements the programming offered at Oracle AppsWorld conferences, scheduled for January 15-18, 2002 in Amsterdam and April 7-10, 2002 in San Diego. Last year's conferences attracted 44,000 attendees, and it is expected that this new online offering will extend the reach of this popular program still further, both to those who plan to participate in the onsite shows as well as to those unable to attend in person.

One of the most unique aspects of AppsWorld Online is that users can actively contribute to the programming. Although most user conferences sponsored by application vendors focus on vendor programming, AppsWorld Online offers a continuous call for papers open to any Oracle user, implementer or developer. Papers are submitted via a self-service form, which is available to all via this online resource. Presenters can then select whether their presentation should be available via streaming media, a slide presentation, a white paper, or a combination of the above. Online presentations, which receive the highest ratings by other AppsWorld Online viewers, may also have the opportunity to present at Oracle's conferences.

In addition, the 90,000-plus members of AppsNet can view and participate in chat sessions with Oracle applications development executives and product managers and exchange information with other Oracle users in discussion forums on Oracle E-Business Suite and e-business strategies. Users will be able to access content created specifically for line of business managers focusing on applications development and deployment strategies, Oracle partner information, and user-friendly implementation techniques-based on content received from the call for papers as well as additional detailed product information provided by Oracle experts.

``We're very focused on the needs of our applications users, which is why we originally created the live Oracle AppsWorld conferences,'' said Mark Jarvis, chief marketing officer, Oracle Corp. ``However, even with the planned expansion of conferences this year, we are constantly looking for ways to give our application users access to the information they need on the Oracle E-Business Suite. We realized that although our 'live' conferences attract huge numbers of users, we could do even more through our AppsNet community. AppsWorld Online is the answer.''

Membership in Oracle AppsNet is free and open to all users, partners and anyone interested in Oracle Applications products. To access Oracle AppsWorld Online via AppsNet, please visit http://www.oracle.com/tellmemore/?893998 .
