OracleMobile Unveils Wireless Web Hosting Business

Wireless Application Service Provider Removes Mobile Complexity from Customers Evite, Food.com and Lottery.com First to Sign

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Sept. 19 -- OracleMobile, a division of Oracle Corp. (Nasdaq: ORCL) focused on the wireless Internet industry, today announced its entry into the wireless application service provider (WASP) market with a complete solution for wireless Web site creation and hosting. Built using industry-leading Oracle Internet software, OracleMobile's hosted wireless services are reliable and scaleable, delivering highly personalized mobile content on any device with a minimum of complexity. Evite, Food.com and Lottery.com also announced today that they have selected OracleMobile to develop and host their wireless sites.

The Hosted Approach to Wireless

With today's announcement, OracleMobile, as a wireless ASP, is strongly positioned in two of the industry's highest growth markets: the ASP and wireless Internet markets. According to a recent survey of CIOs by Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, 87% of CIOs are already considering or would be willing to consider having their software hosted by an application service provider. At the same time, the wireless Internet market is exploding, with analysts predicting that more than one billion devices will be capable of accessing the Internet by 2003.

``The future of software is as a hosted service over the Internet,'' said Denise Lahey, CEO of OracleMobile. ``OracleMobile's hosted approach to wireless delivers the best possible mobile experience, while allowing our customers to stay focused on their core business and maintain complete control of their content and branding.''

OracleMobile Customers Leading the Charge to Wireless

OracleMobile is building and hosting wireless sites for companies that do business on the Internet but would like to extend their brand, content and services to the wireless world. The following companies are some of the first to realize the benefits of using OracleMobile.

Evite: OracleMobile is providing Evite with a hosted wireless service that will enable Evite's customers to easily access the most up-to-date information available about an activity, even when on the move. Now customers can instantly receive and reply to Evite invitations, send updates and check for driving directions from any location.

Food.com: With Food.com's hosted wireless site, Food.com customers will be able to search for restaurants in their area and order a prepared restaurant meal for delivery. The personalized ``My Food.com'' service will also allow mobile users to select from their individual lists of past orders, usual orders and favorite restaurants.

Lottery.com: Lottery.com's hosted wireless application includes OracleMobile's advanced personalization, customization and alert notification features. Mobile lottery players will be able to access past lottery results, receive alerts when certain numbers are drawn and view where a specific number has won before via any Web-enabled device. In addition, lottery players will be able to request a message be sent to their wireless device when a specific state lottery jackpot has reached a user defined level, such as $10 million.
