Oracle Adds AltaVista Search Software to Portal InitiativeAltaVista to Provide Universal View of Information for Oracle Portal CustomersPALO ALTO, Calif., Sept. 6 / -- AltaVista, the leading search technology and a majority owned operating company of CMGI, Inc. (Nasdaq: CMGI - news), today announced its search software group has entered into an alliance with Oracle® (Nasdaq: ORCL - news) for its Oracle Portal Partner Initiative (OPPI). Under the agreement, AltaVista has made available two custom portlets that integrate AltaVista's award-winning search technology into enterprise portals developed with the Oracle9i Application Server portal framework.The AltaVista search portlets will provide Oracle9iAS Portal customers a window through which they can simultaneously query multiple sources of information, including databases, documents, intranets, and the Internet.
