Danka Business Systems Selects Oracle E-Business Suite

Leading Office Imaging Solutions Provider Expects to Improve Customer Service And Increase Operational Efficiencies

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., June 25 /  -- ( http://www.oracle.com/tellmemore/?720863 ) Oracle Corp., (Nasdaq: ORCL - news) the largest provider of software for e-business, today announced that Danka Business Systems, one of the world's leading providers of office imaging systems, services and supplies, has chosen the Oracle® E-Business Suite as part of its new corporate initiative to standardize and upgrade internal operations across the enterprise and improve service to more than 100,000 customer accounts. With the Oracle E-Business Suite, Danka expects to eliminate redundancies, cut costs and maximize its ability to efficiently serve customers.

``As part of Danka's new strategic direction, which we call Danka 21, we need to make it easier for customers to do business with us,'' said Gene Hatcher, chief information officer for Danka. ``Oracle's integrated applications suite will provide us with an advanced foundation from which to better serve our customers. From improving billing accuracy to ensuring the timely delivery of office imaging solutions to empowering employees to solve customer problems on the first call, Oracle will provide us with a comprehensive solution requiring little customization.''

The Oracle E-Business Suite implementation is an integral part of the company's Danka 21 program, which includes new strategic and financial strategies, a new organizational structure that incorporates highly focused strategic business units and a comprehensive process and system reengineering initiative called Vision 21. One of the goals of Vision 21 is to ensure that Danka has a flexible foundation that will allow the company to expand into complementary business areas to offer its customers additional solutions.

By acquiring the office imaging division of Eastman Kodak in 1997, Danka inherited mission-critical systems running on many disparate hardware and software programs. By implementing the Oracle E-Business Suite, Danka will be able to replace these legacy systems with an integrated applications infrastructure, thereby increasing efficiencies and reducing costs.

``We believe we can realize significant cost savings by extracting redundancies across the company,'' explained Hatcher. ``Oracle's integrated modules will enable us to implement a new business model and reengineer outdated business processes which in turn will eliminate these redundancies and maximize our ability to efficiently serve our customers.''

Danka selected Oracle because of its complete suite of e-business applications that manage everything from customer relationship management (CRM) to financial operations and supply chain management.
