Based on NetManage's award-winning InterDrive NFS technology, ViewNow InterDrive Client 7.0 features significant improvements in security and support. Kerberos v5 provides client/server authentication through 56-bit data encryption. The added capability of NetManage SupportNow enables one-click access to live interactive collaborative technical service and support. Expanding the performance advantages of NFS v3, ViewNow InterDrive Client 7.0 allows organizations to extend enterprise information residing on multiple hosts, including UNIX, IBM mainframe, VMS, and OS/2 platforms, to employees and remote workers. Working within a Windows environment, users can quickly and securely access directories, files, printers, disks, CD-ROM, Zip drives, and other network devices. The addition of Kerberos v5 integrates 56-bit data encryption (standard DES) so that a client can prove its identity to a server (and vice versa) across an insecure network connection. After a client and server have used Kerberos to prove their identity, they can also encrypt all of their communications using standard DES encryption to assure privacy and data integrity. Embedded real-time support capabilities based on NetManage's SupportNow technology allows customers to dramatically reduce the cost of end- user training and ensures fast technical problem diagnosis and resolution. The enhanced tools of ViewNow InterDrive Client 7.0 are completely integrated with Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, and Windows 2000 operating systems. Supporting both TCP/IP and UDP networking software, users and administrators can easily customize settings for NFS connections, passwords, global or individual connection properties, and tuning options.
