MicroStrategy Launches Beta Version of MicroStrategy Transactor 7.1

MicroStrategy Transactor Adds Closed-Loop, Interactive Capabilities To The MicroStrategy 7 Platform for Business Intelligence and Web Reporting

VIENNA, Va., Dec. 20 -- MicroStrategy® Incorporated (Nasdaq: MSTR - news), a leading worldwide provider of business intelligence software, today launched MicroStrategy Transactor(TM) 7.1 in beta test for customers. With MicroStrategy Transactor, MicroStrategy business intelligence and Web reporting applications built on the MicroStrategy 7(TM) platform have a closed-loop, interactive dimension.

MicroStrategy Transactor allows users to take action on their MicroStrategy business intelligence information via Web, wireless and voice. This action is much more than drilling or formatting. It could be ordering merchandize from an inventory report, authorizing payment from a electronic bill report, running forecasting scenarios from a budget report or writing back information to a database.

``Now users can make decisions and take action on their business intelligence information promptly and directly from a Web report,'' said Robert Trenkamp, director of product management at MicroStrategy Incorporated. ``The MicroStrategy 7 platform helps companies save time and effort by providing the right information, at the right time, to the right people. It allows them to make decisions, take action and close-the-loop on information, returning it to back-end operational systems.''

In order to execute on closed-loop, interactive business intelligence and Web reporting solutions, MicroStrategy Transactor directs the workflow required to complete those transactions between communications devices and back-end information systems. MicroStrategy Transactor natively handles interactions with any communication device such as the Web, VoiceXML and wireless devices such as PDA, pagers and mobile phones. Also, MicroStrategy Transactor integrates with other information systems such as databases, ERP systems, the Web and legacy systems through its database, internet and Java Messaging Service (JMS) drivers. Additionally, MicroStrategy Transactor's Java API provides extensibility to a full range of information systems and applications.

Simple to Use

MicroStrategy Transactor 7.1 includes a Transaction Designer, a graphical user interface to define XML transactions and any associated XSL transformations using familiar drag-and-drop and point-and-click technology. The Transaction Designer also provides a debug facility to quickly test and modify transactions. This intuitive design tool significantly increases the development speed and decreases user complexity.

Simple to Deploy and Grow

MicroStrategy Transactor deploys seamlessly with your MicroStrategy 7 business intelligence and Web reporting applications because it uses the same intuitive Web interface. Similarly, MicroStrategy Transactor deploys seamlessly with information sent using MicroStrategy 7 Narrowcast Server via email, voice and wireless device. MicroStrategy Transactor provides security, advanced load balancing and fail-over protection in a scalable Java server system designed to handle millions of transactions.

Simple to Buy

MicroStrategy Transactor 7.1 is currently in beta. Pricing is expected to be consistent with current pricing for MicroStrategy Transactor 7.0. MicroStrategy Transactor Enterprise Edition is available immediately for $19,995 per CPU; MicroStrategy Transactor Standard Edition is available for $9,995 per CPU.
