Business Group of Olympus America Inc. Selects Metrix Service Automation Suite

Olympus Diagnostic Systems Group to manage contracts, field service professionals and repair center operations with service automation software from Metrix

Waukesha, Wis. - August 23, 2001- Metrix, Inc. (www.metrix.com) announced today that the Diagnostic Systems Group of Olympus America Inc. (www.olympusamerica.com) has selected the Metrix 4e eProductService™ automation suite to manage their service operations. In the United States there are over 1 billion clinical chemistry tests annually, about one in four are performed on Olympus analyzers and more than 90% of North America’s blood donor centers use Olympus blood analyzer systems for blood typing.
 
“Metrix will be replacing our legacy system, and provide call management, dispatch, call closure and inventory tracking for our field service technicians and technical sales representatives,” said Glenn A. Mann, Executive Director of Service and Operations for the Olympus Diagnostic Systems Group. “We expect to be up and running with the Metrix suite, including utilizing the system to automate our repair center operations within 90 to 100 days.”
 
Mann continued, “Service represents a strong component of the Olympus product offering. The ability to provide superior technical support and service led us to the selection of the Metrix application suite. The Metrix rapid implementation methodology and ROI timeframe were the best available to meet our aggressive goals.”
 
Olympus will also use the Metrix Contracts & Warranties module to manage the wide range of service contracts currently in place.
