MAGIC SOLUTIONS UNVEILS E-SERVICE STRATEGY

Magic Solutions To Enable Easy and Rapid Deployment of E-Service Applications for Customers Worldwide

SANTA CLARA, Calif., November 2, 2000 - Magic Solutions, a Network Associates, Inc. (NASDAQ: NETA) business, today announced a new strategy focused on e-services which builds on the company’s position as a leader in the service desk market.  Leveraging its unique patent-pending browser technology, Magic’s e- service strategy is focused on enabling the fast and easy deployment of automated Web-based solutions for small and large customers across multiple industries.  Ultimately, Magic’s e-service strategy allows customers to reap the benefits of increased business productivity, greater customer satisfaction and significant cost- savings without investing in programming resources typically associated with achieving these benefits.  This announcement was made today at Network Associates’ annual analyst event.
Today’s announcement builds on Magic’s ability to help customers improve business processes by providing them with extensive, highly customizable Web-based service solutions.  Customers are already taking advantage of Magic’s architecture to develop and deploy numerous e-service solutions, including purchase requisition tracking, employee site security, insurance policy tracking, online employment application and software defect logging.  As a result, Magic customers experience significantly lower cost of ownership through the use of a single platform that supports the development of a wide range of e-service applications.

“The ongoing shortage of software development and IT professionals limits a company’s ability to take full advantage of the Internet as a new channel to reach and respond to customers,” said Les Vaughn, president of Magic Solutions.  “Magic Solutions’ e-service strategy is targeted at helping our customers deploy applications quickly and hassle-free, without having to use programming resources that are already over-allocated or essentially impossible to find.”
In the coming months and throughout 2001, Magic will introduce powerful new product-line enhancements that build upon it’s current set of industry-leading e-service features, including:
