M-Tech Announces second Beta release of ID-Synch™New release offers more features, improved interfaceM-Tech Mercury Information Technology, Inc. today announced the beta release of ID-Synch V2, the system for provisioning and managing user accounts and IDs in enterprise networks. ID-Synch builds on M-Tech's password management technology - P-Synch - to provide the most comprehensive and cost-effective enterprise end-user management solution available.Combined, the two products streamline the administration of user accounts, IDs, and passwords over their entire life cycle, from ID creation, through password maintenance, until the ID is disabled and deleted. This complete solution fills the gap for organizations that have stringent security needs with the most robust, scalable and technology, and a wider coverage of systems than that offered by any other product. Incorporating new functions and a streamlined interface, ID-Synch V2 shares P-Synch's secure and open architecture, scalable database, customizable user interface, integration points and agents. The beta release of ID-Synch V2 includes the following enhancements: A pure HTML user interface - with no need for Java browser components or any client software. ID-Synch can be accessed from anywhere in the Intranet, or across the Internet. A built-in workflow engine to request, track and act on approvals to create new accounts and login IDs. A centralized security console for rapid ID management across a broad range of heterogeneous systems. A batch load facility to streamline system migrations, corporate mergers and acquisitions, hiring and layoffs. Support for over 60 different systems, including: Windows 2000 Active Directory. Novell NDS and bindery servers. LDAP directories such as iPlanet and others. OS/390 (RACF, TopSecret, ACF2). 17 flavours of Unix, with any type of authentication. All common DBMS servers and database-hosted applications. Many more. An open API, allowing organizations to leverage existing or third-party workflow solutions to manage ID changes. "ID-Synch helps organizations simplify account and user ID provisioning while enforcing security policies and standards.
