AIM DELIVERS INTEGRATION WITH MICROSOFT'S VISUAL SOURCE SAFE( email this article)
New Module Allows AIM's Bug/Defect Tracking Expert, Change Management Expert Solutions
To Track and Manage Changes Made with Market-Leading Developer Tool
LAS VEGAS, NV (July 28, 2003) -- Applied Innovation Management (Company
Profile, Past
Stories, Case
Studies), Inc., the leading independent developer of Web-based CRM and IT-tracking software solutions, today announced that its Bug/Defect Tracking
Expert and Change Management Expert products now support Microsoft Corp.'s Visual Source Safe (VSS) software development tool. The integration, in the form of an
optional software module, gives users and managers of VSS systems tools that allow them to identify, track and manage the changes made to multiple VSS files and
projects.
"We developed this module because of demand from AIM customers looking for ways to better manage product and software bug reports in Visual Source Safe
software code databases," says Alex Damra, AIM founder and president. "VSS integration with AIM's Bug/Defect Tracking Expert and Change Management
Expert solutions gives developers greater visibility into changes made with VSS."
VSS is Microsoft's award-winning version-control system for managing software and Web site development; it is also used in document-management environments. Visual
Source Safe’s project-oriented features make team-based application and Web site development more efficient.
Teaming VSS with AIM's 100% Web-based Bug/Defect Tracking Expert and Change Management Expert (CME) software solutions gives development teams even greater
control over their bug-tracking processes, according to Damra. By adding information-management and workflow capabilities to VSS, the integration allows tracking, as an
example, the number and names of files or projects that were impacted by a bug or change request and the subsequent actions taken to correct the problem.
AIM's Bug/Defect Tracking Expert allows enterprise development teams to globalize their quality-assurance and defect-tracking efforts. With the 100% Web-based
Bug/Defect Tracking Expert, development teams in different locations can share bug and defect data 24 hours a day -- from any computer -- regardless of platform or
operating system, making it the perfect bug-tracking complement to VSS, which provides information on the changes made in specific files or projects.
AIM's Change Management Expert allows enterprise-wide teams to track, document and safely implement changes to company resources such as assets, documents or
procedures from any location regardless of platform or operating system. CME is also an ideal supplement to VSS because it gives distributed teams the tools to track
changes to VSS projects via AIM's 100% Web-based solution.
Integrating VSS into an AIM-based solution does not require installing software on client PCs. The VSS integration module, priced at $450 per license, is available
immediately.
