Global IT Service Management software developer Infra Corporation has been awarded the contract to supply the Australian Taxation Office – one of the country’s largest IT users – with IT Service Management software. Graham Rowe, the head of the Tax Office’s IT Service Management Program said that Infra was awarded the contract ahead of some of the biggest names in the ITSM industry, based on a tender process and because they provided the best value for the Commonwealth.
The purchase of Infra’s infraEnterprise (Company

Studies) application gives the Tax Office a fully integrated, web-based system for managing all its IT service management processes, supporting the Tax Office’s adoption of the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.
In its initial implementation of 300 concurrent licenses, infraEnterprise has been implemented Tax Office wide for logging all business system incidents for core Tax Office applications. The application is scheduled to be rolled out for Change, Problem and Configuration Management later in 2004.
As part of the implementation, the ATO has consolidated several service desks into one, supported by infraEnterprise. This provides a central location for ICT to log incidents, problems and changes.
Chris Wade of Infra says that, “Because infraEnterprise integrates all service management processes in a single system, it provides organizations like the Australian Tax Office with a fast, efficient method of putting best practice processes online”.
