Keppel T&T’s subsidiary invests US$5 million in Imagine’s Web-Enabled Customer Care Solution(Singapore and Atlanta, GA) November 9, 1999--Keppel T&T, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Keppel Communications (Keppel), has selected Imagine Ltd (Imagine), a world leader in Internet Protocol (IP) communication solutions, as its technology partner for Internet/Intranet-based customer care solutions.As part of the partnership agreement, Keppel will invest US$5 million for a 11% equity stake in Imagine. This amount is based on a after-investment valuation of Imagine estimated at $50 million. In addition, Keppel will become a key distributor for Imagine’s Visual MeetingTM , a Live Web-enabled customer support software for the virtual call centre which delivers data information as well as voice and video capabilities to the desktop over the IP network. This will help our customers enhance their customer lifecycle management, provide targeted marketing to various customer segments and gain a competitive advantage in exceeding customer expectations in the Internet age. “We chose Visual Meeting™ solution because it has an easy-to-use Web-centric architecture that will enhance our Call Center and Customer Care offerings to our multinational customers. “The combined resources and capabilities of Imagine and its other strategic partners will result in an alliance with a worldwide reach for customer care opportunities.” With Visual Meeting™, customers can immediately access a customer service agent with a simple mouse-click for remote technical support (help desk) or while visiting the company’s Web site to make a purchase. The customer service agent will then answer customers’ questions on the product, share content, push and pull Web pages, stream video clips to the customers’ desktop and even help with on-line purchases. This makes Visual Meeting™ a critical building block for companies setting up e-commerce applications and enterprise resource planning (ERP) delivery.
