IEX Appoints Jim Quiggins Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing

Richardson, Texas – September 18, 2002 – IEX, a Tekelec company (Nasdaq: TKLC) and a leading provider of contact center productivity solutions, today announced that it has named Jim Quiggins as vice president of global sales and marketing.  Highly accomplished in the contact center and application software markets, Dr. Quiggins joins IEX with a solid 20-year track record in sales and marketing management.  

Quiggins is responsible for global sales and marketing direction of TotalViewÒ Workforce Management and TotalNetÒ Call Routing.  He joins IEX from Carrefour Technologies, a contact center firm that he co-founded, where he served as principal and vice president.  Prior to his position at Carrefour Technologies, Quiggins served in several senior level sales and marketing management roles at TCS Management Group, including vice president of global sales and marketing for its workforce management software.  Before entering the contact center industry, Quiggins spent 10 years in higher education and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Kansas.
